Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins, in their 18th year in the American Hockey League, announced that the National Hockey League's Boston Bruins have recalled center Trent Whitfield and reassigned left wing Matt Marquardt to Providence from the Reading Royals of the ECHL. With the moves, the P-Bruins have 24 players on their roster, including 14 forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders.

Whitfield, 32, enjoyed a month-long call-up to the NHL from Oct. 21 - Nov. 20, going scoreless in seven games for Boston.
